The warm days faded, and autumn brought football. After the first few games it appeared as if the Panthers were going to be the same losing but Hhard playing team. But to the delight of loyal and rain-soaked fans, a de- termined Panther team won their first Homecoming game in five years on a sloppy field of mud beginning a totally unexpected winning streak. The winning of the game made the festivities of Homecoming complete. As the mercury began to drop, seniors began doing re- search and making initial preparations for their post graduate plans. For some, it was the taking of the ACT and SAT college entrance examinationsg for others it was applying for jobs and apprenticeships or talking to re- cruiters from the Armed Services. Midyear senior activities included attending the first basketball games and wrestling meets of the season, musical concerts, plays, meetings of the various clubs, and frantic studying to achieve the desired semester grades. The seniors found a unique sadness in each activity with the realization that these were their final moments of participation. The second semester was busy with important decision- making and applying to colleges followed by eager waiting for replies. As the warm spring curtain began to close on the seniors' high school career, each one's thoughts were filled with unforgetable experiences and fulfilled goals.
