A new era is dawning. This year's Senior Class will be the last one to graduate from United Township High School, as it has been known and understood for many years. The Juniors of this year will have the distinction of being the first class to graduate from the new building which will be occupied in Sep- tember of 1960. The Freshmen arriving in September will find a different environment in this building than previous Freshmen classes found. Although United Township High School was organized in 1912, the first building of United Township High School, on top of 13th Street hill, was built in 1916 and occupied in September of that year. Many hun- dreds of students have come and gone through this building during the 44 years of its existence. Traditions have grown up and many loyalties have developed over this period of time. We will all remember how life was here and all the good associations we have had in United Township High School as it has been. But a new era lies ahead, built on the foundation of a memorable past. The new United Township High School of the future holds promise for expanding and ever richer benefits to the students and the people of the community. May the pleasant memories of the past serve to enrich the future for everyone.
