Many different types of courses are offered for the stu- dents of the business department. These include Typ- ing I and II, Shorthand, Stenography, Bookkeeping and Office Machines. Business Departments Three familiar faces in the Business Department are Mr. Robert Fairman, who also manages the Bookstore, Miss Jane Glenn, and Mr. Keith Bare. Miss Eleanor Allen Department Head Teachers in the Business Department are Helen Grant, Harold S. Morgan, Max Man- uel, and Rubijohn Gorby.

This course must be passed before a diploma will be issued. Two men usually seen on the streets of East Moline are Mr. Jay Mercer and Mr. Joseph Dhont. Mr. Ellsworth Brooks

,7- English Department Not included in the original English courses were radio speaking and acting. In the earlier years of our school, college preparatory students were not separated from the vocational students. This began with a senior col- lege preparatory course. Later, the same type of course was offered to juniors. A recent change in the English department has been the enriched courses for the more advanced students. Mr. John W.
