TENNIS SERVES UP 14-6 MARK Navy was victorious over Army for the fourteenth consecutive year as the Mids edged the Cadets 5-4 at West Point. Coach Bobby Bayliss ' s unit started impres- sively w inning eight of its first nine matches before suffering three straight EITL losses (Harvard, Brown, Yale). Although Navy finished the season with three Eastern League triumphs (Columbia, Army, Cornell) in a row, the Mids could only manage a sub-par 4-5 EITL showing. The squad ' s top two singles players second classman Bayly Taff (8-11) and senior John Dace (8- 10) lacked consistency. Other singles ' records includ- ed first classman Bill Mountford (12-8 at number three), third classmen Mike Dashiell (15-5 at number four) and Franz Wagner (14-6 at number six), and plebe David Jones (15-4) at number five. The Mids ' usual dominance of doubles play was not as apparent with Wagner and firstie Mark Alevizos (12-6) the team ' s top combination. Senior John Dace 288 Sports
