We have weathered the Storm - Our tour years at the Naval Academy arc now completed. For most, this is our first dent upon the mindless, timeless ledger of history’. We have a right to feel proud. To sit back and reflect on the intensity of the four year storm her many facets, disguises, strengths and how each of us individually dealt with that part of the storm in our lives. The struggle to weather the storm The onslaught of social criticism The bitterness of internal unrest Drugs Race Discipline - Never ending trials in our personal seas And for what have we survived? The challange of the service is greater than ever before. A lifetime of storms ahead all as intense as the first. But the first - that is the important storm. From it we test our mettle: learn of success and failure, sorrow, joy. comradship. From it we developed the strength that will enable us to weather any other. To this were we as a class put to the test. And four years later, as a whole together and as individuals — We have weathered the storm. 3
