w mmf, iofluz, fhapul, uUne can not mistake the identity of the next hu i ld- ing you see hefore you. This is our Chapel, which we firmly believe is among the most heautiful houses of worship in the world. As it is the center of the 'Yard to all who walk through, it is also tho focal, point of the midshipmanis life. Wlietliei' we chose to worship God here or in one of the many churches of Annapolis, wc all derived strength and moral encouragement from its presence. We found that the life we had chosen was not the easiest one to follow and the training that we received at the Academy made a strong helicf and faith in Cod all the more necessary and vital. From the crypt of John Paul Jones in its lower depths to the heautiful stained-glass windows, it posed as an un- paralleled source of inspiration. W-u.-k..,., L. HlVluch of the Academyis most honored tradition centered ahout this huilding, it is :for the Chapel dome that newly elevated memlmers of the Third Class first look upon returning to Annapolis Roads after the corn- pletion of their first practice cruise. Legend has it that they are not fYoungsters' until the first glimpse of that golden dome is caught. MlVfidshipnien could joke ahout almost everything, frut the Chapel was one ohject that never found itself the ohject of jest. The strains of Lfiternal Father, Strong to Save, were always heard for thi- first time. We can derive much strength and satisfaction in future years in knowing that here, each Sunday, its heautiful words and prayer will go out to all men of the Service in all parts of the worldf,
