Admirtjl Charles Turner Joy was one of this group. In him one could see that youth was not a time of life; for to him it was a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination. War hat! already heen raging on the Continent of Europe for two years when Admiral Joy graduated from the Naval Academy with the class of 1916. He was assigned to the IJ. S. S.
