J050 The midpoint of a century and the one hundred- first graduating class of the United States Naval Academy. The United States have grown in number from forty-five to forty-eight in these past fifty years. This growth in number has been matched by a growth in stature and wisdom. As in the past the United States Navy and the United States Naval Academy are dependent upon the states of the union for contributions of both natural resources and manpower. The Brigade of Midshipmen is comprised of young men from all the forty-eight states. The Brigade and the Naval Academy are representative of the consolidation and contributions of all the states. This, the 1950 LUCKY BAG, is therefore humbly dedicated to all those United States and their. citizens who have made the United States Naval Academy a possibility. 4JH
