Superintendent of USMMA VADM Jack “Stingray” Buono, USMS, KP '78, has served as the thirteenth Superintendent of the United States Merchant Marine Academy since he took command on Nov. 9,2018. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent, VADM Buono served in the commercial maritime industry for 40 years. In his last position hi industry, VADM Buono served as President and CEO of SeaRiver Maritime, Inc., an ExxonMobil marine subsidiary. He chaired the Board of International Marine Transportation Limited, an ExxonMobil subsidiary in Great Britain, and chaired the ExxonMobil Global Marine Center, providing operations guidance to ExxonMobil affiliates around Jack Buono, USMS As Superintendent, VADM Buono has presided over the management of the .
