A note from the team: Upon the end of spring break, all Midshipmen were informed to not return to campus. The Academy completely shut down, thus causing the cancellation of spring sports, historic school events, and end of the year senior ceremonies. The administration and staff took this in stride, and brought online learning capabilities to the Midshipmen within a week. Many of the courses such as license prep, welding, and aquatic survival required creative solutions to provide education in an online format. Because of these unfortunate circumstances, sections of this yearbook lack pictures. Despite these hardships, our yearbook committee labored to provide you with the best yearbook possible! ?rs to the USMMA f 2020. They truly deserve it! WHAT IS SOCIAL DISTANCING? THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL asked everyone to take intentional actions to avoid passing the coronavirus from person to person. Anyone who didn’t feel well was asked to stay home. In day-to-day life, social distancing meant staying away from places people gather and staying at least six feet from other people. That meant no eating in restaurants, no movies or plays and no attending sports events. For younger kids, it meant no playgrounds, playdates or sleepovers. For adults, it meant no trips to the gym. salons or restaurants. The CDC also advised that people cancel all non-essential appointments, including surgeries or medical procedures that SEVERE MEASURES STATES WITH HIGH LEVELS of positive COVID-19 tests began issuing shelter-in- place orders.
