License In the final term of first class year, midshipmen take a comprehensive written examination, administered by the United States Coast Guard, for their licenses as Merchant Marine Officers. Upon successful completion, midshipmen will earn either Third Assistant Engineer Third Mate unlimited licenses. This is the ultimate goal of any Midshipman at Kings (Photo Right)True happiness — learning that you passed the license exam! (Above) “Hey Mom — can you hear the bell? I passed the license exam!” (Right) It’s a great day for Libby Palker. She’s now a licensed third assistant engineer.

Regardless of the occasion, Rings Point Midshipmen know how to have fun. Numerous distinguished dignitaries along with various Alumni visit the Academy each year and are amazed by their experience here. We prove our motto...
