KINGS POINT BASEB. 1995 K.P. BASEBALL: BACK ROW (1 to r) Coach McNulty, Phil Carmichael, Sal Capek, Arthur Keegan, Chris Kopeck, Kevin Feighery, Eric Friend, Michael Mazurek,Kevin Reardon, Lou Provac, Craig Fishbough, Coach Collins. FRONT ROW: James Kahlmeyer, James Stapleton, Rob Dziegielewski, Troy Scofield, Dave Bow, Kenny Mueler, Adam Bennett, Kevin Hasson, Rob Abbott, Ed Seifert. While the nation was sick and frustrated with the major league baseball strike, it was still a relief to many baseball fans that good ball playing could still be found at the college level, Kings Point was no exception. The team, under the guidance of coaches McNulty and Collins, posted a season record of 11-11. The team as a whole accomplished many goals and with their imaginations during the cold and snowy months to turn O’Hara Hall into Yankee Stadium, the effort was very noticeable in the batting and pitching records of the whole team. Some of the heavy hitters included Rob Dziegielewski, who set an Academy record for single-season home runs with seven and also an average of .418. Kevin Feighery hit for a .475 average, James Stapleton had 28 RBIs and Craig Fishbough had a .366 average. The Mariners were also successful on the diamond where Stapleton, Lew Provau, and Mike Mazurek provided and definite threat to their opponents. The performance of many players were recognized at the conclusion of the season. These honors included many players being named to various all-star teams. Dziegielewski, Stapleton, and Feighery were names to the New York State College Baseball Div. Ill All-Star Team. Ed Seifert was also voted to the Skyline Second Team at first base. It was a great season and more is expected from this young team in the season to come. RIGHT: Celebrations all around. BELOW RIGHT: Hitting for a homer! BELOW: Kings Point was a threat from the mound. 172

KINGS POINT SOFTBALL For any new team sport, may it be football, baseball, or softball, the first seasons of a new team are usually the most difficult. It is a time for the team’s goals to be oriented around building the team. This takes experience and practice. This was true for the women’s soft- ball team this season. Only in their second season as a varsity sport, the Mariners had a season record of 2-17. They took on a tougher schedule playing some of the best Div. Ill programs in the area. Their two wins were against N.Y. Maritime and N.Y.U. Some of the squad’s top players were Christy Gray, Amie Heath, Chris Riccelli, and Sandi Dugan. Good luck next season. 1995 KP SOFTBALL: FIRST ROW: Stacey Fairbairn, Emma Wilson, Amie Heath, Shelia, Christina Riccelli. SECOND ROW: Sandy Dugan, Gigi Lewis, Carrie Gallagher, Kathleen Jakubowski, Thuy Nguyen, Coach Brown TOP ROW: Christy Gray, Holly St. George, Jenny Darnell. Lenin Toala, Diana Aguirre. Keep your eye on the ball Stacy!!!
