Cdr. Charles McCoy, USN, is the visible and vocal Catholic Chaplain at Kings Point. His sup- port of the Midshipmen is evident by his presence at most Academy happenings. Chapel is a iivnifrmmuumi in irit oin- cera and seamen who gave their lives in the United States Merchant Marine during the two World Wars. The Mariners’ Chapel was built from public subscription and fund raising, along with the inspiration of Vice Ad- the Academy from 1948-1970, and his wife. The completed building was dedi- cated on May 1, 1961, three years after construction began. Lt. Richard Fletcher, USNR, has been warmly welcomed by the Regi- ment of Midshipmen as the new Protes- graduate of William Carey College, where he was selected as outstanding student in 1977. During his active Navy career, Lt. Fletcher was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his work on Middle East cruises. ■■■■
