Pi%tol T Am The title of National Intercollegiate Champions needs no explanation. The hold-em-ancl-squeeze- em gang from the bilges of old Chose Hall brought home the bacon. It was a befitting climax for the team ' s hard work during the past year and especially so for the four members from the Class of ' 50 who wound up their four years of competition for C.G.A. During 1950 s years at the Academy the team was coached by LCDR Hub- bard, former coach of world famous U.S. Treasury teams; GMlc Cliff Lomax, holder of several world ' s records; and LTJG Johnson, a member of C.G.A. ' s earliest pistol teams. The pistoleers won 28 matches while dropping only 4. The squad set a new postal record of 1401. The Intercolle- giate Match decided the outcome for the season with the Coast Guard surpassing the old record of 1367 by shooting a record score of 1369.
