On May 31-June 2 the '87 Senior Class Answered the puzzling question of where's the beach, it's in Virginia,'' they said as they looked off the balconies of the Ocean Isle Motel. Approximately 70 seniors went on the trip to Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens. The 1st day was spent on the beach and concluded with a beach partyr On day 2 everyone travelled to beautiful Busch Gardens. The 3rd day was spent on the beach again. HEART BEAT' The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement A man never stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.'' Keep some pep in your step and pride in your stride.'' Do these quotes sound familiar? They are a few of our assistant principaT s many mottoes. Mr. Eederinko has become our unofficial leader of United spirit and one man cheering section for the whole school. When Mr. Eeder-inko walks into the gym during a pep assembly. the crowd ripples and breaks into a wave of applause and often gives him standing ovations. ft is not surprising that Mr. Eederinko is so popular- he never misses any of many games, meetings, assemblies that are held at United. His hand is always outstretched, ready for a hand shake or pat on the back. He readily leads emotional support to students who need it More official duties take up Mr. Eederinko's time, however. He is assistant principal and sponsors the Student Council. Mr. Eederinko writes federal grant proposals and records at- tendance for the federal government. These Jobs insure students' federal funding for our school district But Mr. Eederinko is best remembered for special qualities he possesses: his positive attitude. enthusiasm, encouragement and warmth toward students. We thank him for turning what could be a frightening place into one that is filled with hope and encouragement 2
