SPANISH CLUB STARTS OFF WITHA BANG Initiation of the eighth grade Spaniards kicked off an active year for the Spanish Club with the notorious Spanish Inquisi- tion. All were led to the court- room Where, after little argument, the jury unanimously decided the entire lot was guilty. Nooses, graves, tortures, and hard-to- remove make-up made for a night the young group wasnit likely to forget.

INITIA TIOM EXCITINGAS EVER The annual trip through Hades, followed by the slave sale, initiated Freshman Latin stu- dents into J.C.L. Twenty-one beginners howled and begged their way through the underworld to meet the great Caesar. Formal initiation and refresh- ments pacified the poor slaves after their return to earth.

UN10 TO HOME OF Q UEENS The joy and excitement gained when placing in a queen contest or receiving the crown has been felt by many girls from our school. Unioto became the Home of Queens this past year when four of our Senior girls placed in con- tests all over the county. Lynn Knight was chosen as the second runner up in the Fall Festi- val of Leaves contest which was held in Bainbridge, Ohio. The Vocational Industrial Clubs of America awarded Michele Wil- liams with their crown. To qualify for this position. Michele had to take tests. be interviewed. and be judged by a screening board. The Pickway Ross Vocational school has a business club called the Office Education Association. Jackie Turner received the O.E.A. crown for this year. A queen is chosen from each of the Ross County schools to enter the Miss Ross County competition held at the Halloween parade each year. Cara Park was entered and came back to our school with the title of Miss Ross County.
