With only two boys back from last year's co-champs, everyone had UHS pegged for a lean year. After a slow start, this green, inexperienced but eager crew began to mesh into a unit that provided headaches for the opposition. Spirit and enthusiasm were evident all year. In addition, an unusually fine balance of scoring power showed up which seemed to uncover a different high point man each game and resulted in an offense which no one could afford to ignore. Without a doubt, the season finale with Mayville was the highlight of the year. Both teams had identical records of 10-1 and the league title rode on the game. In a superbly played game the Eagles came through in true championship style. The JV squad also came home a winner as they battled through to the co- championship of their league, winning 10 games and losing 2 with an overall record of 13-4 for the season. The Junior High squad made it a clean sweep of the Little 7, as they took their league crown and piled up an undefeated overall total of 8 victories and no losses.
