The F.F.A., under the leadership of Mr. Elwood Mellinger, is made up of fifty-six members. The F.F.A. and F.H.A. Fair was held on October 18-19, in the high school audi- torium. (This proved to be a worthwhile project). The Green-Hand Initiation was held at Cass City on Nov. 12 in a joint meeting. Twenty-six members were initiated. The first annual Parent-Son Banquet was held in the Unionville High School auditorium on December 17. The guest speaker of the evening was Robert Nemick of Elsie, president of the Michigan Future Farmers of America. Six boys, Laurence Beatenhead, Keith Kuhne, Joyce Wood, Edmund Vargo, Donald Hinman, and Jerry Singer, discussed the success of the Parent-Son Banquet on WBCM on February 23, 1952. The F.F.A. Basketball Team was un- defeated this season. The record stands at 7 wins and 0 losses. 22

The F.H.A., sponsored by Miss Ruth Paine, and our Chapter mothers, Mrs. Ealy Ackerman, and Mrs. Glen Haggitt, has a total membership of sixty-seven. Our emblem, which is red and white in color, symbolizes better homemakers for the homes of to- morrow. One of the opening events of the year was the Regional Convention held at Saginaw Arthur Hill on October 6. On October 13, members of the F. H. A. and the F. F. A. went to East Lansing to a football game. At one of our night meetings we had a scavenger hunt with prizes awarded to the winners. We also sponsored a Sadie Hawkins Dance in F ebruary.
