SCHCOL IS ACTION As we look back, we shall remember this: A school is many things. It is movement, As arms go swinging in the corridors, And feet climb steps, And heads turn to receive a smile, Flying fingers on the keys, Hands that move with loving care Across the grain of wood. lt is silence, As voices grow whisper soft, then altogether stop When lights are dimmed upon the stage And carols issue forth, As breaths, in unison, are held While Mary holds the Child. lt is emotion, Elated at the peek at the first A Delected at the glare of another F Excited as that extra goal is made lt is dreams Of Spanish sails and bard sublime That make our yesterdays today Of tangents to a star on which We ride to fortune and to fame. Though we live long, though far away, A school is many things. we'll know
