They direct and guide. DR. KOVAR Dr. Daniel R. Kovar, the principal of the Senior High School, is well-liked and respected in both the school and the community. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he has received the B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. He began his-teaching career at Uniontown High School and later became principal at Benjamin Franklin Junior High School. He has written many articles for national education magazines and has been honored by being named in YVho's XVho in American Education. He is a member of Kiwanis Club where he has held office as president and lieu- tenant governor. Under Dr. Kovar's capable leadership, Union- town has maintained a consistently high scholastic standing. In addition to his many other duties Dr. Kovar sponsors the National Honor Society and the Rifle Club. MR. VERNON CRAXVFORD Director of Vocational School Mr. Crawford is the director of the Fayette County Area Technical School. He has a B.S. degree from California State Teachers College and a M. Voc. Ed from the University of Pitts- burgh. He previously taught mathematics and shop at Benjamin Franklin Junior High School. Mr. Crawford was one of the pioneers in the organizing of vocational schools in Fayette County. His farsightedness saw the coming need of this type of training. Our assistant principal, Mr. Zane, isa graduate of lVaynesburg College where he received his A.B. degree and XVest Virginia University where he received his M.S. degree. He has also done advanced degree work at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Zane has taught in high schools in Independence Township, Redstone Township, and Point Marion. His next position was here at Uniontown joint Senior High School. His iob varies from ad- ministration to guidance counseling.
