DEDIC TIO We are the seniors who, upon entering this high school three years ago, began a prosaic sophomore year. Yet, our new life wasn't to be the usual high-school career. Instead it was one in which it became necessary to take the outside world in stride. As the first peacetime selective service was established, a new awareness could be felt throughout the school. Life became very vital to us, during our junior year. War was declared! Immediately many civic organizations arose and, while indulging in vol- untary war work, we became more closely united. Rather than being en- grossed in our own small worlds, we became engrossed in a world far great- er than our individual selves. Our senior year is best characterized by a harvest. The fruits of the harvest are our developed talents, talents which will help us to reach our ultimate goal-that of Service. To all those who from these hallowed halls will go to serve as farmers, factorymen, and fighters and, who by serving, help create a firmer, surer world for our successors, we dedicate this book.
