Construction Stays On Schedul e The new student educational ac- tivity building completion date was March 1. R.G. Elliott, vice president for business affairs, predicted the addition, which includes an indoor swimming pool, racquet ball courts and a new bookstore, to be finished on time. The structure adds 28,000 feet to the Penick Academic Complex and extends the main corridor by 85 feet. The bookstore increased from 2,000 to 6,800 square feet and now includes 800 additional mailboxes. Manager Louise Lynch said, Our hope is to better serve the students and cater to their wants and needs.

Dr. Don Webb honored Dr. Irvin Hays, Jr. as Distinguished Alumnus. Alumni: What A Feelin ' Homecoming to alumni is more than a new outfit and wondering who will be queen. It is returning to college days, renewing old friendships and acquaintances and remembering how things were. The gathering really is an opportunity to come home. A Homecoming highlight is the Awards Luncheon, where an honorary alumnus, a distinguished faculty staff member and a distinguished alumnus are recognized for their achievements by Dr. Don Webb, the Alumni pre- sident. Maggie Nell Brewer was chosen as Distinguished Faculty Staff member. The Honorary Alumnus Award was given to Jessie Stubblefield Smith. The luncheon provided good food and a chance to see old friends. Dr. Kenneth Story is chairman of the Loyalty Fund.
