77 Graduation Held Outside by Ctiapel Nearly 200 Union graduates were in the class at the 1 52ncl Commence- ment, June, 1977. The Baccalaureate address was delivered by Dr. Jesse C. Fletcher, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Knoxville. The Honorable James Sasser, U. S. Senator from Tennessee, brought the June 4 ad- dress. Winner of the highest award for Academic Achievement was Miss Karen Jackson and the Tigrett Award was given to Miss Nancy Fairless. The Honor Award was presented to Ann Goodwin Hopkins. Baccalaureate services were held in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.

Registration Is Beginning Step The first step of fall semester 1977 was registration. Long lines, closed classes, signatures and social security numbers con- stituted this necessary but often trying part of the school year. Cindy Howell buys her textbooks for the classes soon to begin. Dr. Blass advises one of his students on the choice of classes.
