Musical ' Of Thee I Sing ' Is Box Office Smash The Union University Theatre presented Of Thee I Sing in the fall of 1976. The production portrayed John P. Wintergreen ' s presidential campaign on a one-word platform Love. It showed that it was decided that he marry the winner of a nationwide beauty contest which selected Miss White House. Instead. Wintergreen falls in love with Mary Turner, and an international scandal breaks out. The play was sprinkled with humerous antics of Alex- ander Throttlebottom, the new vice presidental candidate. The cast included: Ray Clark, Mary Walker, Debbie Rancher, Steve Patter- son, Larry Anderson, Charles Edmonson, Terry Sadler, Jim Carnes, David Williams, Pam Simmons, Diane Taylor, Beverly Vowell, and Sherry Timberlake.
