Class Prophecy The year is 1974 I had looked forward to giving a lecture about my recent trip to the moon at Bellmore University To ny delight, I learned that Edith Mae Martin was a sociology professor at the university Immediately, I con tacted her She said that she still was single, but that she had not given up hope le soon became involved in a discussion of the Bellmore High School Seniors of 1954 First of all, Edith Mae told me about her sister, Margaret Margaret met her future husband, Don Lawson, while she was vxrki ng at Turkey Run It was love at first sight, because he was driving a red convertible and was in the Navy They now are happily married and live on a large ranch in Texas, with their four children Gerald Gross and his wife, Beatrice Monroe, lMar:llyn Monroe's daughterl are close neighbors of Margaret's They have three boys and a girl Gerald owns a three thousand acre ranch and a new Cadillac Quite recently, Gerald bought a vacation spot :ln Florida so his wife can model her bathing suits Mae Rowe won an international beauty contest and became a famous movie star She now lives in the new movie capitol, Ferndale, where she is working on her latest picture Carrie's husband, Wayne, works for a railroad company, and Carrie takes care of the house trailer and their six fine youngsters I recallei seeing a large chicken farm near Springfield, Illinois Professor Martin told me its owner is Shirley Pruett It seems that Shirley cannot leave her chickens long enough to bother meeting a new man lhile we were on the subject of farms, I learned that Carl Hubble is now the proud owner of a 550 acre farm in Ohio He also has several head of cattle He married Mary Jane Davies, and they have two sons who want to play base 'ball for the Brooklyn Dodgers I thought of Georganna Branson's 4 H work and was happy to learn that she is home demonstration agent of Parke County She is teaching thsladies to pre pare turnip mlad and chicken burgers Her husband, .Tohn Berry, is the under secretary of Agriculture When I was in New York, I stayed :ln one of the many hotels owned by Freddie Brattain Freddy drove a 'Blake Special' in the 500-Mile race and set a new world's record He married the famous French hair dresser, Madonna Huttonn, and they have nine children. Professor Martin said that she had seen Carrie Phipps Brown in New York.
