emor Class Husfony Twelve years ago, inthe year of 1942, the Senior Class of 1954 started up the long path to graduation Here at Bellmore, under the grid ance of Mrs Ethel McClain, the original tlnee of ue, Edith Mae Martin, Jonna Mae Collings and Joyce Berry learned to munt, read and write Our other class mates were as follows Emily Cleveland, Johnny Joe Fulk, .Terry McMullen, Elise Marie Shafer, Floyd Elmo Shorter, and John Richard Smith We picked up and lost class mates through the years The first six years, we spent wondering what was above the first flight of stairs When we became seventh graders, we found out Then we considered ourselves somebody When we entered into high school, we were initiated as green freshmen Fresh men were Jonne Mae Collinge, Georganna Branson, Edith Mae Martin, Diane Percifield, Margaret Martin, Joyce Berry, .Terry McMullen, Gerald Gross and Freddy Brattain Diane Percifield left us the last part of the year and moved to Georgia Then, our sophomore year came around, ani it was our time to do the init ating Mae Lopshzlre came from Oklahoma and Betty Trump came here from Montezuma men We got to sell candy, pop, magazines for our trip to Florida, which started on December 27, 1952 and was concluded January 5, 1953 We also gave a class play, which was called Look Me In The Eye Carrie Phipps, Shirley Pruett and Carl Hubble entered from Jackson Township Betty Trump and Mae Lopshire left our school after Christmas At last we came to our senior year, which was our happiest year of all We had eleven members Georganna Branson, Joyce Berry, Freddy Brattain, Jonm Mae Collings, Gerald Gross, Carl Hubble, Edith Mae Martin, Margaret Martin, Carrie Phipps, Shirley Pruett, and Mae Lopshire Rowe, whom we were very glad to have back with us We planned our Commencement for April 29, 1954 There were three boys who received basketball sweaters They were Freddy Brattain, Gerald Gross ani Carl Hubble Four of the senior girls received sweaters for playing basket ball They were Jenna Mae Collinge, Joyce Berry, Edith Mae Martin and Mar garet llartin le worked hard to publish our annual of memories of our hi gh school days Q I 0 : Our junior year was a very exdting year. I, Joyce Berry, do hereby will and bequeath my place on the basketball team to Kathleen Martin, may she lead with all the scores I will ny seat in the assembly to Darrell Horney, who will keep it neat and clean I will nv typing book to any one that has the patience and brains to take it I will nv lacy handkerchiefs to Judy Vaught, and may they help her through life My ability to set hair I will to Linda R Young to help her catch her charming mate in life I, Shirley Lee Pruett, to nv best ability, will my quietness to Marcia Barker, sq seat in the assembly to Lucille Rightsell, and my curly hair to Linda Rose Young I, Carl Hubble, do hereby will and bequeath my position on the basketball team to Larry Staggs, who is better than I, my ability to make long shots to Darrell Bum, I will my basketball suit to whomever it will fit, nv seat :ln the assembly to whom- evsr it is assigned to I 0 I 0 1 interest in the Air Force to no one. , - ' 6
