oO ,,1.-'--'- S PRUPHHTY It 1S now the year 1974 The atom1c age 1S at 1tS peak The Cadlllac Com pany 1S putt1ng out a new type of car th1s year called the Cad1llac Space Sh1p The super1ntendent of schools Mr D Russel Lee 1S try1ng to stra1ghten out h1s f11es and It seems that the year of 1954 1S really m1xed up He hops 1n h1s space Shlp dest1ned for h1s f1rst stop Mr Lee Sp16S a Packard Space Sh1p com1ng 1n h1s d1rect1on and waves casually When he f1nds out lt 15 Ken Joseph he stops 1n m1d a1r for a chat Wlth h1m Ken tells Mr Lee that he took over the Busam Packard Company and 1S do1ng f1ne and that th1S year they are also put t1ng out a new type of car called the Joseph Rocket He also ment1oned that h1s be st fr1end B1l1 D1ck was th1nk1ng about tak1ng off for Mars and that 1f he wanted to see h1m he had better hurry When Mr Lee arr1ved at the Space Port he found B111 f1r1ng up h1S rocket for the take off and out of the w1ndow leaned h1S Wlfe and ten k1ds Mr Lee asked why he was leav1ng and he rep11es The Clty 1S mov1n 1n on West Chester so I deC1ded to move to Mars Mr Lee then takes of for New York where Anna Mae Prather 1S play1ng 1n a rec1tal at Carneg1e Hall He got hungry on the way and dec1ded to stop for lunch at a place known as Crazy Meld1e s Alr Cafe He talked to the owner Armelda Farmer who sa1d that she had Just h1red Anna Lee Wynn as her famous cook As Mr Lee sat enJoy1ng h1S lunch he heard a lound bang outs1de It was that of two rockets com1ng to a standst111 Jump1ng Jup1ter ' he cr1ed Th t Where have you been? We took a wh1rl down to M1am1 Beach to see the rock races th1s morn1ng ' they sa1d After arr1v1ng we were surpr1sed to f1nd that Don Car one of our old school mates was the owner of the orb1t where the races took place He told us that f1V6 years ago he went 1nto partnersh1p W1th JoAnn Baumel who owned the s ace orb1t where the races were held today Now as partners they take 1n almost 2 O00 000 O00 a year prof1t Mr Lee p1cked up the morn1n paper and read that Mona James had been voted 'MISS Hem1sphe1-e 1n a mo el1ng contest of space robes and suxtes and had been g1ven a new 'Ford a Breeze space Sh1p for lst pr1ze Mr Lee looks at h1s watch and d6C1d6S that he had better leave 1n order to get to the rec1tal on t1me He passed so many space Sh1PS 1n h1s haste, that he almost m1ssed one of the members of the class of 54' He pulled up a1ongs1de a sh1p that had ' Space Express Tax1 Wfltten on lt and was very much surpr1sed to f1nd that the dr1ver was none other than Sh1rley Chance She told h1m that she owned the whole tax1 express company from New York to Cal1forn1a She also told h1m that Marg1e Farmer owned a Chaln of coffee 1ndustr1es located on Venus and that her best coffee hauler was Kathleen F1sher who had taken spec1a1 fly 1ng lessons 1n order to get the Job Marg1e keeps the world Supplled Wlth coffee and makes S12 OOO 000 000 1n prof1t Mr Lee took off l1ke a b1g b1rd once more He turns on h1S portable telev1s1on and 1S startled to see JaCk16 Howard do1n the news commentat1ng but was more shocked when hearlng the announcement t at there was go1ng to be a double wedd1n It seems as though Sondra Smart 1S go1ng to marry Capta1n V1deO'S ranger and er fr1end Mary Lou Homan 1S go1ng to marry Capta1n V1deO h1mself Every human be1ng 1n the un1verse 15 1nv1ted to the wedd1ng Then he announced that the guest speaker at the wedd1ng was glmng to be Sarah Jo Wh1te the new woman pres1dent of the world, also one of t e g1rls old classmates Mr Lee looks at h1S watch and d1scovers he has only 10 m1nutes to make lt to Carneg1e Hall He pushes down on the accelerator and speeds the rocket up to 700 m1les an hour He took a curve to sharp and ran smack 1nto a new bl11C1i cru1ser Shlp I-Ie was rushed to the hosp1tal where Dr Carl Maddox and nurses Mary Jane R1chards and Frances Reeves gave h1m the1r utmost attent1on Mr Lee f1nally opens h1S eyes and he sees these rema1n1ng members of the class of '54 before h1m He excla1med Ahh' M1ss1on accomphshedl ' 8 M N . 1 ,,- f IQ: .
