THE STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council was organized to introduce a more democratic spirit into out school and to shift some of the responsibility, as well as some of the power of governing from the teachers to the students. The Student Council is made up of one representative from the six upper grades. The representatives are as follows: Seventh grade, Mary Jane Grossg Eighth grade, Bobby Myers, Freshmen, Patty Hewitt, Sopho- mores, Rosemary Mohlerg juniors, Marieta Srnithg Seniors, Murlea Lee From the six Council members a president, a yice-president, and a secretary were elected. Monitors were appointed to aid the teachers in corridors, assembly, and classroom duty. The future of the Student Government depends entirely upon the student body. The teachers have endorsed the plan and have done their utmost to aid its progress. We hope next year to increase the number oi students in favor of Student Government, but only when all the students back the decisions and plans of the Council can we put over a real SUCCESS. The Senior Government Class deserves credit for helping organize this Council. President, Murlea Lee Vice President, Marieta Smith Secretary, Patty Hewitt -S 4.
