His tip-in-shots and one-handers were ce beautiful to watch. The team will miss Kingery. gb Kirkpatrick, Bob, was our other co-captain. His defense work, and xl tx cool handling of the ball made him a fine player. His experience will be I, 7 missed. S , Ballman, Charlie, worked at center a.nd guard. W, K ,Q cg Harrell, Junior, playing his first year of basketball at Union, im- , . W .1 proved enough to win a starting place on the second. His excellent pass- T , ing and defense work aided the team greatly. Myers, Wendie, a Junior, showed plenty of ability and fighting 3, 4 spirit when on the floor. He has a fine long, and one hand shot. He was forced to leave the team because of illness. X K? Patty Kepncr, Barbara Fowler, and Minardean Foland our yell lead- A ers, showed much initiative and enthusiasm. Their pep sessions and 5, cheers inspired the boys greatly. ls' Coach Don J. Odle, completing his first year coaching high school basketball, will go down as an outstanding person in the his- cs toryuof the school. A part of his achievement was the excellent basket- ,S etba team that represented Union on the hardwood. Guided by him, 9 the team roared through the season with a fair record. v The student body is indeed proud to have Mr. Odle as director of 4, physical education and coach.
