7 f SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the year of 1931 five members of the 1943 'graduating class en- tered the first grade at Union. Little then was known about Freda Ellis, Eugene Kingery, Murlea Lee, Robert Kirkpatrick, and Geraldine McGraw. The five worked their way to the fifth grade and there they were joined by Ocal Fellow. Walter Wimmer started with us in the sixth year and Ruth Long in the Seventh. In our freshman year we met with two more new students. They were Floyd McKinney and Francis Carlile. john Hoban and Charles Ballrnan enrolled in our class during our last lap. In our junior year the class presented Aunt Letry's Nieceff During our Senior year wq presented Under Westem Skies. Both plays proved that the class had much dramatic talent. ? When juniors, the class gave the Seniors a reception at Marion. The Seniors won the class tourney in '43 from the Juniors. This was the first time our class had ever captured the championship. The Scrap Drive contest was also won by the Seniors of '43. The Student Council, a new organization in the school, was started by the Senior class. As we, the graduates of '43, look back over our school days, we realize that afteri all our hard work and sacrifices, we have gained a great and worth while victory. Ax , c cy S t e - - I
