Superintendent's Message To The Seniors of 1961 You as graduates in the high school class of 1961 are among the privileged in our country. It is your privilege to move onward and upward in your life's ambitions and work. It is your priv- ilege to be in a country where you yet have the freedoms necessary to achieve your goals in life. You are the ones who will determine which way you will move after school. with your privileges, which your parents and our American society have pro- vided for you, are definite and certain responsibilities which you must likewise ac- cept. it is your responsibility to improve and strengthen the society as you have in- herited it. Then you must pass on to the next generations a type of life which will be better and improved over what we have given you. My hope would be that you continue to improve yourself. your community. your state, and your nation. Then you will also have accepted your privileges and your responsibilities to society. Good luck to you as graduates and may you always feel a loyalty to your friends and teachers whom you have worked with at Lmion Mills. Heber Winebtenner Superintendent of Schools Clinton - Hanna - Noble Consolidated School District

Principal's Message LOOK TO THE HORIZON Where have you been? ..... where are you nowz ..... Where will you be tomorrow? ..... The future lies ahead . . . . Look to the horizon. . . . . what is your goal in life: . . . . . What do you want? ..... How do you plan to achieve it? . . . . . The horizon is the foreseeable future . , . . . Are your goals outlined now. clearly in view. or are your goals beyond the horizon, unseen at the present time. and therefor uncertain? Perhaps you have asked this question: What to do about my goal in life ? Now each of you has been given a treasure of invaluable worth. Properly used it will produce a for- tune for you. Improperly used, wasted, or once idled away. it can never be regained. Your share is equal to most others. What is this fortune? It is time, minutes of the day. next week. next month, or next year - - all these are future hours of tomorrow. How will yours be used? To the wisest advantage in order to earn the greatest return on your investment? Or will yours be used in an unwise manner and thereby have a lesser return on your investment. The decision is yours, the task is great, and more im- portant the time is now. Look to the horizon. Seek your goal. then keep it in view. Time is a means of achieving your goal. Your work ahead and your accomplishments in the future are but a sum total of the little pieces of work you have invested through the proper use of time. Where have you been? - - is past. Where are you now - - is present. where will you be to- morrow - - is future. It is the most important of all! Good Luck Class of 196M Lawrence A. Scholl. Principal
