Again this year the boys who attended Boy’s State had a great time. As well as their usual antics, the guys learned about government and running for office. The Governor was one of the guest speakers and the main attraction was the cheerleader camp that was held at the same time. The guys claim that the most interesting thing about Boys State was getting to know all of the other people. The Boys State representa- tives from Union High School had a very learning experience. They will remember all that they have learned and use it in their lives. BOVS STATE 72 Top: Pauline Pappas. Middle: Beverly Mortensen. Susan (vie. Bottom: Clarene McKinnon. Suzanna Smart. When asked what their favorite thine about Girl’s State was. they all agreed that they would always remember the feeling of patriotism that was forever present. The Girls Staters will never forget the friendships that were formed and bonded by that week of unity. Girl's State was held at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City. The lack of gentlemen company was felt by all. and has been immortalized in a popular Girls state song ... “Girls, girls, girls that’s all I see. there’s not a guy in the vicinity.” r GIRLS STATE 73 November Leann Allred and Lonnie Sammaripia September Cecilia Collier and Raymond Sundin October Beverly Mortensen and Russ Lefler STUDENTS OF THE mONTH February Karen Beavers and Jeff Samuels March Beth Haueter and Dale Madsen May Elva Ames and Greg Jones April Pauline Pappas and Quinn Landry The Cougar Outlook staff are the ones that keep their finger on the Pulse of the school. I've come to the conclusion that out of the whole book, this is the hardest page I've had to do. There are so many people that I would like to thank for helping to get this book out on time. The yearbook Staff should receive thanks first because of all of their encouragement and support. Mrs. Percival — I wouldn’t have made it through the first (well really second) deadline without all of your help and guidance that made this book what it is today. Mr. Wolff and Coach Omer deserve thanks for all of their patience when we had to take our Pictures over and over... Mrs. Griffin should be thanked for all of her moral support. This experience is one to be remembered for a long time to come. To next year’s editor, good luck and don’t give up because the finished product is well worth it. Thanks to everyone.
