Together all watched as Amy Clayburn was crowned Queen, as Lori Gardener per- formed honors of first attendant, and Teresa Lamb reigned as second attendant. Senior class took the prize for the best float. All watched with fascination as the drama department put on an indoor circus. He had been the head custodian for 13 years. Per- formances were held during school where prejudging took place and the five best plays were selected to present an evening perfor- mance. Books, essays, themes and a few late hours plus a little help from Avagadro, Hemingway, Shakespeare and Einstein enabled this group, of '71 seniors to be called tops! They were tops, too, and not only scholastically by maintaining a 3.5 or better GPA over a five semester period but also by excelling in every aspect of Union’s curricular as well as extra-curricular activities from industrial arts to drama.
