Yoon Yun Annual Publication Of Union High School Roosevelt, Utah 1968 We the annual staff dedicate this book to the studentbody of Union High for the support it has given us. -A Editorial Staff Sharlene Nielson . . . Keven Ashby Marjorie Ankerpont . . Venita Taveapont . . . Mary Jayne Pitt. . . . Margaret Reidhead . . Ann Larson Marcy Hefner . . . . Mr. Gollaher . . . . Mrs. Bench Financial Clerk Administration Classes Sports Events Groups Patterns Of Our World Life is but a pattern, with Union's students well aware of the patterns which form their worlds, patterns which shape their lives--both present and future. The worlds of teenagers differ from the worlds of adults, although the adult worlds cast their patterned shadows on the fleeting orbits of youth. To avoid eclipses of these rare moments, this book is conceived. A school is built, a design is created, the pattern set. Within these walls lie classrooms, activity rooms, administrative offices, and the hopes of an auditori- um in the future. In this framework, patterns of our environment make our world. The world of education, all the things we have participated in clubs, music, sports, and day activities, all are parts of this pattern. Patterns of our world is the theme of this book. Follow us through the various paths our activities have taken; let us again take you through the education maze. Feel the impact of our sports action, review the school happenings of the year, and see our students in action. Meet again the people and friends who have made this year memorable. Our Yoon Yun '67-68 covers a year of activities from September to May. You will see the Seniors of '68 as well as those of '69, for they make up the pattern of our year. The staff members of Yoon Yun '67-68 sincerely hope you enjoy their efforts and cherish the PATTERNS OF OUR WORLD! 4 Mary Jayne Pitt People Who Are Making Patterns 5 Front Row: Grant Pickup, Lorin McKee, Keith Bergquist, Lorin Ross, Back Row: Superintendent Ashel E. The first quarter saw the ball change hands several times, with the Cougars, on numerous oc- cassions deep in their terri- tory. The Wasps had some deep penetrations into Cougar ter- ritory, but Union's defense stif- fened and held. The second quarter went in similarity to the first and at half time, score stood Union 0, Wasatch 0. Union received in the third quarter and on the second play from scrimage, Warren Mc- Kenna threw a pass to Mike Da- vis, which was intercepted by Wasatch and run 40 yards, for a touchdown. The extra point was good and the score stood at 7-0 Wasatch. Now it is time to don caps and gowns, and start down that long road to success. From now on, the patterns that you follow will determine the kinds of lives you will lead. It will be the designer of your happiness, and the mold of your desires. What your decisions of the next few years may be, depends upon the patterns that you follow. So choose the pattern that best fits your present situations and follow that pattern to the very end. When you begin to walk the road of success, think back to those golden high school days. Make them a part of your destiny, treasure them for they were the beginning of your individual pattern. Make your future goals as high as the ones you have achieved thus far and let them continue to grow with vigor and enthusiasm. Don't underestimate them in the least and cherish the moments that you have shared with friends of '67 and '68. You will be more or less on your own now, to further your education, or become that certain person you have always longed to be. Touch that star and sweep the dust from the heavens till the dawn encloses your lives. You will live but once, so make the best that you have now, better! So patterns of our world comes to an end, we, the staff, sincerely hope that our ef- forts have not been in vain, that you, as we have, will make this golden book of mem- ories, a part of the pattern of your world!! 112 Autographs I % . ■ • v ' ' Cv —•- ■ '.
