I0 '7fze Ztfdflcal Y' 12 Years Together D SENIOR S HISTORY Flass Motto- Build for character not for fame t'olors-Scarlet and Silver FlowerfAmerican Beauty Rose Yes, as seventeen seniors we enjoy answering to the title Seniors, and soon we will move on to make way for the oncoming Juniors. To the com- munity at large we shall be just another graduating class, the class of '-ll. Seven graduates, namelyg Catherine Hunter, Violet Fiock, Gerald Reid, Robert Whitaker, Dale McOmber, Eugene Taylor, and Earl DeLong began their school life back in 1929 as first graders under the tutelage of Mary Bowers. We traveled on and upward and had added four more to our number before entering high school. Betty Mace, Neva Mae Rice, Alice Ehman, Fred Ehman, Ernest. Rickard, and Burton Hoblet were the new classmates. When as freshmen, we entered high school, we held high hopes of making our class one of the best in the history of our school. Since not all of us were interest- ed in the same fields of achievement, some concentrated on scholastic endeav- ors, some strived for athletic laurels and still others took up the art of music. The highlight of the Sophomore year was the annual Freshman Sopho- more lnitiation Party. Two new classmates were enrolled during this year, Mildred Thompson from Payne High School and Eleanor Dumar from Grover Hill High School. Our Junior year began a new day for us and we began to take the re- sponsibilities assumed by upper classmen. The play This Night Beware was presented by the more dramatic students. We also enjoyed giving the Seniors a banquet. ' This, our Senior year, is a climax of twelve years of hard work. Under the very capable leadership of Dale Mctlmber, we feel we have accomplished much with our year filled with parties, festivals, plays and many other good times. We are now Seniors about to depart from school and cast our ship on life's rugged sea. Although our hardships, trials and troubles have been many we all have enjoyed our twelve years of school together.
