WILDCAT JUNIOR BRGADCAST Class Flower, American Rose Class Colors, Red and Silver Motto, Building for Character not for Fame Station J. R. C. broadcasting on a frequency of 1940 kilocycles, presents for your entertainment a series of News Chats, originating in the studios. of Union High School. Announcing this program for our genial sponsor Mr. Fasig, is none other than President Dale McOmber, assisted by Vice President Mildred Thompson, Secretary Eleanor Dumar, and Treasurer Gerald Reid. Miss Thompson now takes you behind the scenes in Junior life, Miss Thompson! Greetings, Annual listeners! Since my last chat with you our number has decreased from seventeen to sixteen. Early in the fall We opened our social season with a party, later a Christmas party, and then in March the graceful girls with the gallant lads in the class for partners took to the floor of the Y. W. C. A., on skates. What parties do to finances is a long story. To help finance the Junior- Senior banquet honoring the no-ble Seniors, we sold pop-corn at the basket- ball games. We wish to thank our patrons. Late in January we searched for a memento which might, in years to come remind us of our successful broadcast. At last a gracefully designed ring, bearing the station of our broadcast, U. H. S., was selected and purch- ased by every member. Our greatest thrill was the presentation of This Night Beware, includ- ing a cast of 12 characters. In addition we all participated in various activi- ties, sports, fellowship, music, and faced them bravely. Next year listen in again-same time, same station-for the latest bulletin of Junior life. WILDCAT Gradually the scene changes revealing Dorothy in a small, attractive, white house in California, greeting Phoebe McCandlish. The former Miss Mason listens in delight as Phoebe enthusiastically tells of her wedding plans. Now everything is dark but there in the greyness, I see Lindsay Mc- Candlish developing pictures. He has in his hand a picture of Willard Dougal, the man who made headlines hy inventing a new type engine. His picture will be in the San Francisco Daily Times, with details of the invention. Suddenly I awoke with a start to find it all a dream! Nevertheless, I felt somewhat cheered and comforted as I picked up the book where it had dropped on the floor and prepared to sleep in bed for the remaining few hours of the night.
