the Whistle At first, everyone was real- ly excited that we had been chosen for the Sr. Class Play, Don't Blow the Whistle. The cast received their play books before Christmas vacation and were told to have it read by the time we came back. When school resumed, play prac- tice began. As it went on, week after week, it began to become more and more bor- ing. Going to practice became a real trial, but we still worked hard because everyone was determined to put on the best play ever. The week of February 15 was fast approaching. Prac- tices were lasting longer and longer and becoming more hectic. Thursday night's dress rehearsal came and, of course, was a mess. But the fearless leader, Mr. Walters, said, Never fear, tomorrow it shall come out flawlessly. And it did! On Friday, February 15, the Sr. Class of 1974 put on one of the best plays ever produced. After it was all over, everyone agreed that it had gone much too fast and we wished they could do it one more time. 27
