Remember making ice-cream in Physics! Remember John and his prize cabinet! Remember exchanging senior pixs! 3 5 Perhaps a part of growing up is looking back and seeing how far we've progressed. I’m sure that most of us have glanced back to our previous years of schooling, whether they be the elementary, Junior High, Sophomore, Junior, or maybe just yesterday's experiences that we've all shared together in school. Immediately we are reminded of the “high points” of our years: the third, sixth, ninth, and twelfth years of our education, when we felt on the top of the world because we held down the top slot on our own little measuring chart of success. Likewise, we remember the years when we were stepping stones of others. Two important times for us were, the advancement to fourth and seventh grades; mainly because of the challenge of a new and larger building with which to become familiar. In addition to the buildings, there were the teachers, some being the object of boyhood, or girlhood crushes that we've all had at one time or another. An inspiring year for our class was ninth grade, a year that we won both football and basketball championships, but our first actual feeling of leadership was recognized then. That feeling was dissipated in our Sophomore year, when we realiz- ed we were little or nothing in the eyes of our superiors , the then upperclassmen. This was also the year of the opportunity of playing a varsity sport, which some at- tained. Another common memory is that of our first dre.ss-up experience of our dating lives, the Teenette Formal. How quickly boy .and girls became ladies and gentlemen! Our Junior year was perhaps our hardest working year, in that most of us filled our schedule completely, in order to be able to take it easy our Senior year. As Juniors we were also, new hands at taking college boards, and preparing for college entrances. We also changed the usual format of the Junior-Senior Prom, with the best results of any class in Union High’s history. As Seniors we became the rulers of the school”, a feeling which seemed inter- minable at the beginning of the year, but faded away with, the quick passing of our best year. to ... Some of us will advance to college, while some will take a place in the world, but to everyone the memories of high school years will remain, to be told to children or to make us children again. 3 Robert Adamczyk (Coo z) Band - 10.11,12; Basketball - 10.11.12; Chess Club - 11; Concert Choir - 12; Homecoming -11; NHS - 11,- 12; Student Council - 10; Track - 11. The cast received their play books before Christmas vacation and were told to have it read by the time we came back. When school resumed, play prac- tice began. As it went on, week after week, it began to become more and more bor- ing. Going to practice became a real trial, but we still worked hard because everyone was determined to put on the best play ever. The week of February 15 was fast approaching. Prac- tices were lasting longer and longer and becoming more hectic. Thursday night's dress rehearsal came and, of course, was a mess. But the fearless leader, Mr. Walters, said, Never fear, tomorrow it shall come out flawlessly. And it did! On Friday, February 15, the Sr. Class of 1974 put on one of the best plays ever produced. After it was all over, everyone agreed that it had gone much too fast and we wished they could do it one more time. 27 Senior 28 Commencement On June 3.1974 the Class of 74 graduated from Union. And then in a moment was heard on the roof, the laughing and giggling of each little goof A bag full of signs we had flung on our backs, and we all looked like a bunch of jack-ax' Sweaters eyes, how they twinkled? Her cheeks how merry The hair on her head was like a bright red Cherry Ella, who was up for homecoming queen was quite thin, some even called her stnngbean' Now Kathy, whose i.Q was admittedly low. was quite dumb m most things, which is par for a Dago1 The next stop we made was at the Padules, we were running around and acting like fools When we arrived, we went straight to work, giggling and laughing and acting like jerks. When up to the window Mr Paduias face rose, his little face tired just waking from a doze I let out a scream and gave a big yell, and we ran to the car like bats out of hail! But they heard us exclaim as we drove out of sight. Happy Victory to all and to all a good night Pep Club Senior High Pep Club Members are. Row 1: George Augustine. Sam DeBiase. Sam Bernstine.
