The newly organized club of l946, Future Homemakers of America continued to progress considerably through the efforts of Mrs. Edna Crow, home economics instructor. Selecting red and white as their club colors, the girls wear white sweaters with red emblems for identification. Activities furthering the advancements of the club has increased membership within the organization. Qualifications require a member to have had at least one year of home economics. Og ra .A5i5fanf5 Under the supervision of Miss Margaret Polley, new librarian, student assistants were kept busy with the job of keeping the library in an orderly arrangement, looking after magazines, checking books, and arranging books. To equip the library with timely literature, fines were assessed on overdue books. Nancy Wilson, Wilda Elschlager, Eileen Armstrong, Jean Burgess, Miss Polley, Flor- ence Stern, Mildred Bom, Nancy Saffle, Theresa Hughes. Swflgif SM Headlines and deadlines, headaches, and heartaches, all combined to attain the same achievement-that of obtaining first and select honors in the Nation and State News Contest, respectively. Sponsoring dances and selling pens, soliciting ads were but part of the means of financing the Spot- light . With five juniors and ten seniors comprising the staff, the school paper was published eight times during the year. STANDING-Norman Logston, Mary A.
