Though it wasn't really a great sea- son, the team did have some vic- tories. Mot only did they win 7 regu- lar section matches, they also took fourth place in the Section 13 team tournament held at Double Dam Qolf Club. In this tournament, Bur- gettstown's number one golfer, Da- vid Allison, was the medalist with a I guess. I 'm just the Country Club type of guy.—David Allison 771 Dave also won at Lone Pine Country Club at the Section 13 indi- vidual qualifiers, he then advanced to the Area Tournament held at Me- macolin CC. Unfortunately, Dave missed advancing to the next level of play by a mere two strokes! But congratulations to Dave on an ex- cellent season! Back to team action, the Burgett- stown golfers took 5th place in the Century Conference tournament held at Chippewa QC. Mice going guys! Oops, almost forgot—the team wasn't all guys this year! fresh- man Dana Yanni had an impressive season, too. At the girl's WP1AL tour- nament held at Butler's QC, she fin- ished 4th, which qualified her for state action. So on to State College, PA for the PIAA tournaments at Elk's CC. Here she finished 24th out of 44 golfers, which is terrific, especially for a freshman! Congratulations and good luck to Dana, and also to Coa- ch Vallina, without whom none of this would be possible! Although the 87-88 golf team will be without number one man Dave Alli- son, younger brother (and number two man) Rob Allison will be back to carry the team. Good luck for a suc- cessful season!
