This year's squad took on a complete and tremendously competitive schedule, and did quite well. The team victories, even though outnumbered by the losses, were indeed thrilling to all of us. Three of those victories were over rival Sherman County and they helped us get over some pretty rough road! Four seniors will leave us this year, and their presence will truly be missed. Team Captain Rick Blanchard finished the season with a 14-5-1 varsity record and a 5th place in the District Tournament. Dale stover accumulated a varsity record of 22-2 and placed 3rd in District. He was also awarded the honors of Most Falls , Most Takedowns , Most Team Points Earned , and Outstanding Wrestler of the Year . Gene Wood, for the past two years, has done a good job in helping to re-establish the Wrestling program. Roger Holloway, Most Dedicated , has been a source of inspiration to all of us, because of his determination to compete, even while injured. Best of Luck to these young men! Three Juniors will return next year, and should do an outstanding job for us. Dale Keillor held a varsity record of 17-8. and placed 5th in District. Gary Conradson demonstrated tremendous improvement this year, and will show even more next year. Stacey Parman became a real takedown specialist this year and held a varsity record of 17-8. He also placed 5th at District. Our Sophomores numbered three this year, and did a heck of a job! Tim Smothermon has improved steadily. Mike Matteson won his share of matches for his first year on the mats. And, Terry Jackson, Quick Pin , even though hampered with injuries, still managed a highly respectable 12-4 varsity record. Freshman Robin Kuhlman, Mark Moran, and Darryl Keillor came a long way in one season. The first year is tough one, but these three guys hung in there well. We're looking for even more improvement frmo them next year. Finally, our statisticians Teresa Lindley and Robin Bloom, and our cheerleaders, Kris Udey and Carol Walters deserve a lot of thanks. They all did a lot of work and we truly appreciate them. So, all in all we had a great season. The good times outnumbered the bad, and we're looking for an even better season next year!!
