Students Learn Teamwork in Gym Classes Becky Woodruff demonstrates lier skill on the horse. Besides working in gym- nastics the girl ' s pliysical education classes played volleyball, baseball, bas- ketball, and ran track to keep physi- cally fit. Mr. Clifford Cook shows his physical education students a useful wrestling hold. Jerry Frazee shows one of his many skills on the trampoline. After learning the basic manuevers the students gain skill in the more advanced areas of gymnastics. 49

Mr. Cook taught drivers education to Union students. The course was off- ered to Indiana students fifteen years old, and to Ohio students sixteen years old. The course lasted one semester. The first half of the course was devoted to learning the rules of the road. The second half was actual driv- ing practice. Before passing drivers education, a student must be able to handle the car safely, know the rules of the road, and know how to parallel park. Mr. Cook explains the mechanism of the automobile to his students. Students Become Competent Drivers Mark Stella, wath the aid of Mr. Cook, demonstrates the task of parallel parking.
