Producing twenty issues was the main goal of the staff. Editor Carolyn Montgomery, along with Business Manager Donna Rosenberger, spent two weeks at Indiana University learning to organize and run the school paper. The assistant editor was Connie Dare. Debbie Beasley types the dummy to one of the stories to be used in the Stateline Student. 24

Booster Club Council Sponsors Dance Seated: Mike Smalley, Cindy Kirkpatrick, Mr. Ashvvortii, Joyce Stearns, Kay Rosenberger. Standing: Joanna Powell, Rick Crane, David Johnston, Dean Van Winkle, Jerrolyn Bourne, Darrell Bruns, Jay Brattain, Kathy Hensley. The Booster Club Council began its annual membership drive in October and ended its drive with 1 25 members. To raise money for the club the Council sponsored a dance Cupid ' s Dream , featuring the Cavaliers. The Coimcil also helped to organize a bonfire and pep rally to open the basketball season. Officers were President, Cindy Kirkpat- rick; Vice-President, Mike Smalley; Secretary, Kay Rosen- berger; and Treasurer, Joyce Stearns. The Booster Club was sponsored by Mr. Richard Ashworth. Union ' s Boosters and fans express various emotions at the game between College Corner and Liberty. 23

Taking pictures, choosing the ones to use, and drawing up layouts is all part of putting a yearbook together. Editor Janet Cornelius and Copy Editor Cindy Kirkpatrick found this to be true when they attended a two week summer workshop at Indiana University from July 20 to August 2. While at Indiana University Janet and Cindy lived in Forest Quadrangle with 250 students from all over Indiana and from other states as well. The students attended classes in Ernie Pyle Hall, the University Journalism Building. During free time the students were permitted to use University recreational facilities or to travel to downtown Blooming- ton for shopping or other activities. The highlight of the two weeks was an awards dinner conducted in the Student Union. Other members of the Ohianian Staff were Pam Miller, As- sistant Editor; Brian Brookbank, Photographer; Donna Rosenberger, Business Manager; Suzanne McCreary, Under- class Editor; Deb Beasley, Organizations Editor; Kathy Smith, Sports Editor; Joyce Stearns, Circulation Manager; Judy Buehler, Peg Vereker, and Diane Witter, Typists; and Becky Woodruff and Brenda Stelle, Proofreaders.
