Lowry Raisch Secretary . . . . Ruth McNair Treasurer . . . Lucile Fudge HISTORY The present Sophomore Class started to school in the little frame building at the corner of the school lot. This class moved into the new school building at Christmas of that year f1926.l Miss Mary Driscol was our teacher. . Our second year Miss Dorothy Work was the teacher. She was quite interested in nature study and taught us much along that line which was outside our usual course. In the third year, we had part of our subjects under Miss Frances Williams, and part under Miss Jessie Joslin. Part of our class sat in one room Csecond gradel, and part in another Cfourth grade.J We passed back for our various classes. Miss Joslin taught all of our subjects in the fourth grade. Our teacher in grade five was Miss Miriam Kirker. Mr. Alvin Rogers taught us in the sixth grade. We spent most of our time listening to the seventh grade who came into this room for some of their recitations. Miss Mable Stewart taught all of our subjects in both the seventh and' eighth grades. When We entered Junior High School last year, Ellis Sheets, Vada Wooley, Russell Smith, Freda Bake, and James Arnold joined our class from Billingsville. Our subjects last year included Latin I, English I, algebra, biology. Our class oiiicers were: president, Mary Buscherg vice president, Lucile Fudge: sec- retary, Inez Mastersg treasurer, Ellis Sheets. Mr. Dils was our sponsor. During our Freshman year We had a number of parties which were greatly enjoyed by the class. During our Sophomore year we welcomed some new members to our class: Edna Belle Mullin and Shirley Rinehart, both of Jacksong and Mary Thornburg of Richmlond. Sophomore subjects included geometry, English II, Latin II, World history. The Sophomore Class officers were: president, Lowry Raischg vice president, Doro- thy Pultsg secretary, Ruth McNairg treasurer, Lucile Fudge. Miss Jackson was our sponsor. We enjoyed many parties this year, also. Miss Jackson entertained us in February with a Valentine party at her home. This year, for the first time, a High U Club was organized for the entire high school. About one-third of our class belong to this organization. The membership is based on high grades or achievements in sports. - Mary Buscher.
