I, Estle Hartley, my nickname of Briar to my brother Jimmy, so that the name will continue for several more years. I, Louise Kingery, my basketball ability to Helen Miller so that she may take my place next year. I, Joe Marcurn, my unused Physics book to Ellis Sheets so that he will become a lover of science. SCHOOL CALENDAR Aug. 30 - School began. Pencils have taken the place of fishing poles. Sept. 2 - Holiday, but no one sheds any tears Sept. 5 - Boys take up their old rivalry with Liberty in base ball. Sept. 6 - Got beat by Liberty in baseball so tried softball and got beat by Browns- ville in their forest reserve. Sept. 10 - Boys play host to Kitchel to win their first victory. Sept. 11 -- Juniors and Seniors go to Eaton on hay ride. One hat lost but found and returned to Mr. Wright. Sept. 12 - Freshmen are initiated. The gala parade around the assembly and are they green? Sept. 13 - Friday the 13th, but lucky for us we won over Liberty in softball. Sept. 17 Sept. 20 Sept. 24 - Won over Brownsville on our own diamond. - Boys journey to Kitchel for another win. - Play Liberty in softball here to clinch the Softball Championship of Union county. Oct. 8 - Boys come to school this morning looking stiff and sore. They had their first basketball practice last night. 25 Oct. .,., Teachers' Institute today. Nov. 1 - Basketball boys turn in first victory of season over West Elkton. Nov. 5 - Seniors' first party which goes over with a bang. Nov. 7 - Eighth Grade party. No-v. 8 - Basketball game with New Paris there and another win. Nov. 14 -- The Green Freshmen have a party. Nov. 15 - Hi U Club is organized. Basketball with Boston there for our third straight victory. Nov. 16 - We play Kitchel for our fourth straight win. Nov. 20 - Juniors present Fixin' Aunt Fanny. Nov. 22 - Our first defeat by Eaton, played in their gym. Nov. 28, 29 - Thanksgiving holidys. Dec. 6 - Play Brownsville in basketball for another win. Dec. 7 - Play Stewart of Oxford here to avenge last year's defeat. Dec. 13 - We play Dixon there and defeat them after a hard-fought battle. Dec. 14 - Play Liberty here and we are defeated three points. Dec. 16 - Mr. Glass fell ba-ckwards in a straight chair, thinking it was his swivel chair, just a year ago today. Dec. 18 -1 Eighth grade have a party. Dec. 19 - Sophomores have a party. Dec. 20 - Play Camden here for another victory. Dec. 21 - Seventh grade party. Dec. 22 - Christmas holidays and everyone expecting Santa Claus. Jan. 10 - Play Dixon here and win. Jan. 11 - We defeat Springfield on their floor. Jan. 13 - Second semester begins. Jan. 17 - We are defeated by Brookville on their Hoor. Jan. 18 - Defeat Springfield on our home floor. Jan. 21 -- Monroe here - no they aren't here. Due to a misunderstanding in dates, Monroe didn't arrive to play the expected basketball game, although the crowd came to see it. Jan. 22 to 27 - Extremely cold Wave. Jan. 24 - Basketball game at Camden, Union wins. Jan. 29 - We win the delayed basketball game figm Monroe. Jan. 31 - Such weather and such ice! ! No school. Feb. 1 - Basketball game with Lewisburg here and again we come out victorious. Feb. 7 - Union wins another basketball game from Brownsville. Feb. 12 - High U Club has party at school house. Feb. 13 - Sophomcres have party at Miss Jackson's. Feb. 15 - We all journey to Liberty, only to be disappointed when Liberty wins another basketball game from us. Feb. Feb. 21 - State Highway Patrol man talks to assembly. 22 - Preble County Basketball Tourneyg when we defeat Verona in morning, only to be defeated by Jackson that night. Feb. 24 - Preble County Schoolmasters meet at West Elkton. Feb. 26 - Those dreaded six weeks test again. Mar. 4 - Senior party at the school house and do they have the eats I I Mar. 6 - Band program. Mar. 9 - Finals of Class Tourney when the Sophomores and Juniors determine the champs.
