The 1958 baseball team went all the way to the state tournament, before losing in the first round of play down state. The team won eight straight games before being blanked for their first loss by Triadelphia. With the exception of a 6-5 loss to Moundsville the Ironmen finished the season, un- beaten. Overall, during regular season play, this champion squad won eleven games while dropping two.
