School activities get under way each fall with the beginning of the foot- ball season. Freshmen are rapidly initiated into the spirit of Union and soon become enthusiastic as the upper-L-lassmen. The band and cheedeaderslead us Uifootbah ganum each Phiday nithe Fall. The present band is one of the finest we have had, and the cheerleaders are full of pep. The cheerleaders under the direction of Maxine and Theresa, seniors, direct cheers both in assemblies and at games. Many new songs and cheers were added to our pep meetings. These lively girls with the aid of the student. body and hundty have conuzthrough the season with mnne very enthnmasdc gaines. 1Each of the classes prepared and conducted pep rneethigs for sonic home games. The honors go to the Freshmen for the best planned pep meeting: The band is lead in marching by our drum major and majorettes. Charles and Josie were senior 'thigh steppersl' this year.
