CA ENDAR SEPTEMBER : 7-Back to work In a Little Red School House. 10-Our Hrst football game-Union and Morganza. 13-Election of Home Room Officers. 14-Classes elect Officers. 16--Another scoreless game between Union and Waynesburg. 20-29--Magazine sales get under way. 4 21--Band parades at Washington. Dr. Yap entertains with a lecture about the Philippines. 24-Union Blue Devils vs. Weirton Night Riders. OCTOBER : 1-Home game with Trinity. 4-6-Mr. Ylfeller takes Senior pictures. 7-Initiation for the new members of the Tri-Hi-Y. 8-Union triumphs over Centerville. 11-Club pictures are taken for the HU. 14-Assembly-J. Franklin Coveny, artist, picks Jackie Miller for the great profile. Library Club gets rhythm at their first party at Miss Scott 's apartment. l5-Coraopolis game postponed. 20-The first dance of the season was the Sadie Hawkins dance sponsored by the Home Economics Club. Reptile show by Jack Ramon. Theresa Seyda becomes Union's new snake charmer. 21-22-Vacation for students while teachers attend Institute. 22-Rainy night-but Union travels to Homestead. 25--Miss Love joins the faculty. 25-26-27-Ration Book 4 is distributed to the community by teachers. 27-Freshmen hold annual Ha1lowe'en party. 29-Another football tie-Union and Avella. NOVEMBER : 5-Clark suffers its first defeat at the hands of the Union Blue Devils. 8-13-American Education Week. ll-Union plays its rival, McDonald, to the tune of 12-0. We celebrate with a Jeep Dance under the auspices of the Tri-Hi-Y. 13-- Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the M orning -but school on Saturday. 15-20-National Book Week. 15-Miss Kushner and Mrs. Burd take Mr. and Mrs. VonFeld's positions. We get our first glimpse behind the scenes in the theatre as the Slouts entertain us. 17-Hi-Y members inducted. 18-Commercial Club initiates new members. 19-Glenn Hicks wins Amateur Hour and a free HU. 20-Last game of the season is with Coraopolis. 25-26-Time out while we eat turkey!
