Cheerleaders Build Enthusiasm Elections for Varsity and B-Team Cheerleaders were held in May of 1973. Both squads practiced hard over the summer to achieve perfection in the 73-74 basketball season. The B-Team squad attended clinics at various uni- versities and entered cheerleading contest at Wapa- hani High School, The Varsity squad attended the National Cheer- leading Assoeiaton workshop at Vincennes Univer- sity. They were awarded several ribbons for their su- perior showmanship. To build better sportsmanship, Union hosted a Cheerleader Tea for the conference and county schools, Above: VARSITY CHEERLEADERS. Rockets Experience A Year Cf Good Times nd Hard Work Practice started early in October, preparing the Rockets for the strenuous roster-1973-74 basketball season. The new head coach, Tim Heller, inspired the team with confidence to win. Determination to con- quer their opponents built enthusiasm throughout the student body. Spirit and desire encouraged the Rock- ets as they advanced to the sectional finals. ln a tense moment at the sectional, Mr. Heller reconsiders his strategy.
