Mr. Hobson always endeavors to keep his students up on the new scien- tific methods as well as the tried and true ones. Students al- so gain knowledge of the works of modern farm equipment by assembling it for the local dealer. Using the wide variety of tools available in the shop, Greg and Brent assemble their section of a com planter. This planter lost a wheel as it was leaving the driveway. Well, nobody's per- feet!

James seems to be heavi- ly absorbed in searching for the solution of this drafting prob- lem. lndustrial Arts classes under the direction of Mr. Burton introduce many novel ideas about such areas as architecture, mechanical drawing. and shop to his mechanically inclined students. During thc year the students learn to use many tools and skills which are entirely unfamiliar to them at the beginning ofthe year. During the year the Industrial firts department has acquired many sets of drafting instruments to aid the future draftsmen. Also the school has purchased a new band saw, metal lathe, and power hacksaw for the use of the boys in shop classes. These tools and instruments are all a part of the improved lndustrial Arts program at Union. Freshmen boys work on their projects in Shop I. Randy searches for another tool before beginning his project.
